It was a once in a lifetime experience anyway, so why not blog about it. I had gotten tickets from Angelynn for Tp alumni so a group of us managed to catch Sylvia perform in the finals.

Even though we didnt keep in contact for a long time, It was awkward seeing someone who u were once quite closed to, performing on such a huge stage on live tv. In fact i was roped in as an extra for e opening on live tv yesterday. If ur eyes were sharp you might have caught me running out or jumping around below the stage yesterday.

Im not really a fan of the singapore idols(other than Sylvia), but it was amazing to see how everything is done, especially during commercials. The atmosphere was crazy and im surprised how sezairi's fans can scream till i cant hear myself. To be fair, i think everyone sang really well.

I had the opportunity to catch Charice too. She's this little singer from philippines whom i've been catching through youtube. She sang with Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion and catching her live was EVEN better cause shes realy damn good, and shes cute.

It was sad for all sylvia fans when the results were announced, as in reallly saddening, but shes already a winner to all her fans.. It was a loud loud night, one where i managed to see celebrities up close , even the great Ken lim was like 1metre away from me lOl...

I love the final moment where Ben was screaming GURMIT GURMIT! for like 6 times before gurmit looked to us and gave us a cute wave.. jokes..

Life has so many "what ifs".. in fact, too many what ifs..

Today was supposed to be a special day.. which i was supposed to, confidently pass my Driving Test on the 2nd attempt. Don't get me wrong, i was confident i could do it this time. However, i just came back home with 26 points.

This time, i did fine. My tester insisted that i changed lanes too fast and it was wrong of me to just check the blind spot by turn my body. The key mistake was when i was doing a u-turn back to CDC, the car in front of me was so bloody slow that i had to do a last minute stop as i couldnt turn. Because of that, my tester deducted 8 crucial points which could have let me pass instead. I wont say i was unlucky, perhaps stopping 1 second earlier would have prevented that "mistake"

What if i applied my brakes earlier. What if i was less kan cheong. Well, driving aside, life hasnt exactly been very good, neither has it been bad. I just feel like i've been standing on the same point of life for too long and im not moving on. Or maybe im just emoing cause of today's disappointment.

The 3rd attempt is going to be a long time later, and CDC will take the parking poles away, hurray( more difficulty).. It's so ironic that i had a dream last night that i was driving on the road filled with dead bodies.. Bad omen maybe.

Ok, considering thousands took part in the 42.195km run, i may not be that unique, but its definitely something i've been wanting to do for some time, but i dont think ill ever do it again lol.

Alright, before i forget the details.. i think it might be interesting to go through certain crucial points of the run.

== Woke up at 3, took shuttle from hougang stadium and reached at 4.10am.. couldnt find anyone but spotted my BMT friend. Followed him and his bro.
==And so i passed the start point at 5.45am, ok i was late cause my friend's brother was waiting for toilet and i was with them.. Nevertheless, run started.
-- Everything was fine for first 15km. Only started drinking water after 10km.
-- I only trained till about 16km, so started to feel the tension on my legs after 16km, but i made it fairly well to 21km which was the U-turn point at East coast ( I swear the East coast stretch is a killer as u're about to hear)
-- Timing was 2hours 10mins at 21km.. quite ok la.. And continued running. 21km -30km (end of east coast stretch) was damn terrible la. HAD to drink at every drinks station, eat powergel bar and my current strategy was just to walk a few hundred meters before jogging very slowly till i hit the next water point. This carried on for a very long time, actually till the end of the race.
-- And so there went strategy walk a bit then force yourself to jog till next 1km. A painful journey, especially when aunties n uncles run faster than u and 34 to 35km seemed ever so endless.
-- Saw a friend at 38++ km, was damn painful by then, so i walked with him.. hoping to end the last km with a jog to the end. but 41km never came. So as i saw the ending point.. I just ran to the end and posed for the camera with my tongue out. An Okay timing 5Hours 45mins with lots of walking and slow jog..

My aim was below 6 hours and so i was satisfied, but i personally felt i could have done better when i was running together. I never want to go through such long pain again .. or maybe ill change my mind. But 21km and 10 km runs are fine with me :)..

And so marks the day, where Shane becomes yet another out of thousands of singaporeans to be come a finisher of 42.195km.
